See you in New Orleans!

The UPHA Board of Directors appreciates your support and looks forward to seeing you this week in New Orleans.

Dear Mr. Boone,

The City of New Orleans is excited to welcome the 2025 United Professional Horseman's Association National Conference on January 8, 2025, and we appreciate the UPHA for repeatedly choosing our city as its destination.

As you are aware, our city suffered a devastating tragedy on January 1. While New Orleans is still healing from the loss experienced, we will never allow this cowardly act to prevail. Immediately following the incident, the French Quarter and Downtown area underwent a series of security enhancements in coordination with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners. This proactive approach enabled New Orleans to successfully host the Sugar Bowl and reopen Bourbon Street.

Restaurants and businesses in the French Quarter are fully reopened. You will notice enhanced safety measures, including increased law enforcement presence and physical security barriers. The New Orleans Police Department and Louisiana State Police are working closely with our federal partners to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors.

On a personal note, many of you know me as an exhibitor and owner. This has been a challenging and tragic time, but we in New Orleans will not be intimidated and we will not let anyone crush our city's joy. The world recognizes just how special New Orleans is, but we are the ones who call it home. As we always do, we will prevail, with an enhanced focus on protecting our beloved city.

I am grateful for your support of New Orleans during this time and look forward to seeing you at the conference.

Sincerley,

Helen Moreno
New Orleans City Council President
