ASHBA Board Candidates Announced for Member Review



The American Saddlebred Horse and Breeders Association Board Nominating Committee is pleased to announce the successful completion of the new nomination process - developed by the ASHBA Governance Council and unanimously approved by the ASHBA Board of Directors. This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to member engagement and strong governance that supports the future of the Saddlebred community.

Nominations submitted: 38
Unique nominees: 28 (some were nominated by several people)
Applicants: 16 (nominees/members who completed a detailed application)

A sincere thank you to the Nominating Committee members, including Betsy Boone, Allison Deardorff, Larry Hartsock and Donna Smith, for their thoughtful and diligent work in implementing this updated process.

During the ASHBA Annual Meeting on Feb. 13, 2026, ASHBA members will elect six of the nine candidates to serve on the board. Electronic voting also will be available to those who cannot make the meeting in person.

These candidates represent a diverse and passionate cross-section of the Saddlebred community - professionals and amateurs alike - from across the country.

Candidates are:

·         Erin Eichenbaum, Florida
·         Steve Gaw, Missouri
·         Diego Miron, Florida
·         Melissa Moore, Kentucky
·         Scott Robinson, Kentucky
·         Brooke Simpson, New Hampshire
·         Barbe Smith, Louisiana
